Also known as Daimaru Shinsaibashi Food Court

The basement food court of Daimaru Shinsaibashi gathers Osaka classics under one ceiling — spice curry, ramen, the famous kitsune udon from Imai (Osaka institution since 1946), and Hamburg steak from Shachi Boston (1952 cafe lineage, doing the yoshoku set lunch with ground daikon on top of the patty). The Imai bowl is the signature order: complex broth that's sweet, savory, and umami at once, paired with sweet deep-fried tofu pouches.

💡 Local tips
  • Order the kitsune udon at Imai — their signature, the broth alone is worth the visit.
  • Shachi Boston's Hamburg steak is the yoshoku pick; Western-style with the ground-daikon Japanese twist.
