Also known as Keage Sakura Spot

An abandoned 1890s railway that now functions as a walkway — wooden ties, old rails, and a canopy of cherry trees that makes this one of Kyoto's top sakura spots. Outside spring it's a quiet historical curiosity; in sakura season the rails fill with photographers before sunrise.

Type historic railway, sakura
💡 Local tips
  • Spring-only hit — the sakura tunnel is the whole point.
  • Pre-dawn arrival on a peak-bloom day if you want photos without other photographers.
