🌿 CHILL

Also known as Tetsugaku no Michi

A 2-kilometer stone footpath along a small canal, flanked by a few hundred cherry trees — named after a philosopher who famously walked it daily. Best in peak sakura, decent year-round. Runs Nanzen-ji at the south end to Ginkaku-ji at the north.

Type walk, sakura, canal
💡 Local tip
  • Walk south to north: Nanzen-ji → Philosopher's Path → Ginkaku-ji is the canonical sequence.
