TripperoniBot is the crawler behind Tripperoni. It reads tour operators' public tour pages to keep departure dates, prices and seats up to date, and each departure on our site shows when it was last checked. We list and link out: we never take bookings or payments.

How to recognise it

Requests carry this user agent:

TripperoniBot/0.1 (+https://tripperoni.com/bot)

How it behaves

  • It reads your robots.txt first and follows it, including Crawl-delay. A disallowed page is not fetched.
  • It sends at most one request every 2 seconds to your site.
  • It fetches only public pages of tours we list. It doesn't log in, fill in forms or try to get around a block.
  • If your site answers 429 or 5xx, it stops and backs off, honouring Retry-After.

Asking us to stop or change something

To stop all crawling, disallow TripperoniBot in your robots.txt. Your tours can then still be listed from public details, without tracked dates. To be removed entirely, see operator removal.
